Not too Late - Colleges Still have Openings

It has been a busy week but I have to take the time to remind those college students who are still struggling with finding a college to attend next fall, of the space availability survey. Last month I sent this site to Nutmeg who knew some kids in this position. At the time the list was not out. Now that it is, I think it is a good idea to publicize it in case it can help someone.

The site is the National Association for College Admission Counselling and it puts out a list of colleges that still have openings for freshmen and transfers. The list is available by state commencing with Alabama; but do not assume that there are results for every state. Where there are results however, the colleges are listed in alphabetical order, their website is given as are names, email addresses and telephone contact numbers. In addition the following information is provided as to availability:
  • Freshman Class
  • Transfer Class
  • Financial Aid
  • Housing
The codes used are Y for yes, N for no and L for Limited. For example these are the results in DC.

Another helpful site for those students who may think their case is hopeless is this list of colleges which have late admissions dates or rolling admissions. Rolling admissions means they accept applications until the class is full.

Good luck!
